With a stoneware clay body and hand-painted 22k gold accents over an olive glaze, Miwak’s Aurelia is a ceramic pipe that elevates the smoking ritual through art and quality. A hollow interior provides a large chamber, and the exterior is hand-finished for a smooth feel in the palm. The gold bowl reflects heat to create an even, clean smoke.
Miwak’s pipes are fired in reduction, in a gas kiln at an extremely high fire temperature. The heat renders our pipes especially sturdy, and the reduction process creates an ever-changing array of finishes which make each piece truly one-of-a-kind.
Variations in color, shade, surface texture and size are natural characteristics of all Miwak’s products and should be expected. Images shown are representative, but may not indicate all variations in these characteristics.
Measures approximately 2.5” by 4”. Responsibly made in California.
- Place in an old cooking pot. Cover pipe with water and slowly bring to a boil.
- Boil for 10 minutes or so. Do ventilate as boiling with extract a smokey smell.
- Turn off heat; allow water and pipe to cool.
- Rinse thoroughly with warm water. Use a dish scrub-sponge on the outside and in the bowl with a dab of soap. (*For pipes in our Golden Girls Collection, use a soft cloth instead*)
- Rinse and dry.
You may use alcohol in the bowl to remove resin; however, we don’t recommend soaking the pipe in alcohol, as clay is porous and will assume the taste of it.
