Lady Buds

Sava and “Lady Buds", a film amplifying the voices of women and the LGBTQ+ and BIPOC communities in cannabis, share the goal of creating an inclusive cannabis industry. They are joining forces to celebrate the film's broadcast premiere on Starz on March 1, 2022 and the incredible community of women represented in the film.

“Lady Buds” tells the story of six courageous women who come out of the shadows of the cannabis underground to enter the newly legal market amidst a challenging environment. The award-winning documentary film had its 2021 North American premiere at the prestigious HOT DOCS Film Festival and its US premiere at the Mill Valley Film Festival where it won an Audience Award for Best Documentary. After an exciting festival run including Outfest, DOC NYC and the Denver Film Festival, to name a few, “Lady Buds” had a theatrical and VOD release Thanksgiving Weekend and received incredible praise from the press. "Lady Buds" was nominated for Best Documentary Feature by the 2021 Women Film Critics Circle, and currently is rated 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
