Our founder and CEO Adam Grossman was inspired to start Papa & Barkley after an experience he had with his father Mort. It all began with a powerful homemade pain balm Adam created in a Crock-Pot to alleviate Mort’s debilitating back pain, which later turned into a line of natural, full-strength topical balms, oils, tinctures, patches, lotions, and capsules. The company is named after Adam’s “Papa” and the family’s loyal pit bull, Barkley, symbolizing the unconditional love and support that they hope to capture in the products they make every day.
